It Was For Sex

Damn, I was hoping that the missing South Carolina governor was cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs, but (as I listen to his news conference over the phone) I am discovering that he disappeared to have sex with some woman in Argentina.

What an ass.

Yeah, and not one of those "journalists" thought to ask: Who was governing the state while you were out of the country?

He succeeded in making it all about his personal failings rather than his failure to dishcharge his duty to the citizens of South Carolina.

How predictable was that confession?

I think he was hoping everyone would fall asleep before he actually got to the part about sex. I was going to when he named everyone he ever met to apologize to.

I hope he is forced to resign. Not because of adultery, that is between him and his wife, but because he spent 5 days in Argentina with no one running the state. I would call for Crist's head.

in the list of his apologies, I thought it telling-- out of 5 he named, his wife and kids came 3rd and 4th.

what a class act.

But he did manage to get the voters of South Carolina to pay for his assignation.

I hope they impeach him. Not for having sex, I don't care about that, but for leaving the state unrepresented and spending tax payer dollars.

did he really? I hadn't heard that. it was being speculated on tonight on Rachel and Keith.

ditto about the sex not being the issue. that's between him and his wife.
as always, it's the cover-up that causes the problem. and he should be impeached for how bungled his cover-up was. that, all by itself shows how inept he is. how can he be trusted to govern a state?

Ahhh, but remember, this is the same guy who wanted to refuse the stimulus money and then didn't want to spend according to the rules set forth by the Obama administration.

I feel really sorry for wife, though, the humiliation of a cheating husband is bad enough, but this was a HUGE slap in the face. Apparently the reason she was not told even that he was hiking the trail is because she asked him to leave 2 weeks ago and that had not been made public knowledge until this morning (what would I do without public radio?).

yup.
this is also the guy who screamed for Clinton to be impeached after doing something similar. I'll bet he tries to hold HIS office.

and he has come out foursquare against gay marriage.

in fact, I just hear him now:
"Your honor, what was I supposed to do? all those gay marriages undermined my own!"

that's part of the problem. when you hold yourself up as the arbiter of public morals, you get bit when YOU fall down!

Keeping in mind that Clinton never disappeared. He got his IN the Oval Office (as far as I know) so he gets points for staying on the job while the job was being done!
Ha Ha!

I am so witty.l

The problem with the RightWing isn't that they "don't get it" but that they "can't sell it." And they are loud about it! We lefties believe in Live and Let Live.
